Corporate Mailing Services Reduces Print Preparation
Time by 80 Percent

Corporate Mailing Services are a mailing house based in Thetford, near Ipswich. Their client mailings vary in size from 200 to 250,000 letters per job and they regularly send out 500 sacks of mail a day with Royal Mail.

Corporate Mailing Services were using the Lodestar Mailsort software when they contacted Satori Software. The reason they were interested in changing their supplier was that they needed to be able to do Mailsort 700, which Lodestar did not support. Mailsort 700 is a type of mailing using the Customer Bar Code, one of many additional sorts native to Bulk Mailer 5 Professional. Switching became an easy choice. As well as offering more mail sorts and better support, the extensive job-related features of Bulk Mailer 5 Professional also opened the door for Corporate Mailing Services to offer more services to their clients.

A major advantage for Tim Weston, General Manager at Corporate Mailing Services, was the data handling ability of Bulk Mailer 5 Professional. “The ease of use with being able to handle databases, especially old and badly formatted databases, makes what was a time-consuming and difficult task straightforward now.” Tim also makes use of the de-duping, “We now rely on de-duplication in Bulk Mailer 5 and have retained and gained clients solely on this functionality.”

Integrated Mail Piece Designer and Printer Control

As well as the data handling, Bulk Mailer 5 also has a mail piece design and print engine integrated into it. This has benefited Corporate Mailing Services, as they do not have to use Microsoft Word as often. Tim adds, “We split our print runs between five printers and usually send batches of 3000 letters to each printer. Using Word it was taking over ten minutes to spool these 3000 letters to each printer, meaning it was taking nearly an hour to get the print run started. We now use Bulk Mailer 5 for the majority of our printing. Using the Print Mail section, it takes less than two minutes to spool to the printers, less than ten minutes for all five printers and has saved me many hours!” The package includes integrated drivers for many major brands of printers, including RENA and AstroJet.

Tim really sees data cleansing as a growth area and, together with Satori Software, now offers his clients a range of services including PAF Correcting, MPS Suppression, NCOA checking and many more. Final word from Tim: “Bulk Mailer 5 is now an integral part of our Business and I could not imagine operating without it.”
