Data Enhancement
Gone Away Suppression File
Every year more than 3.5 million people in the UK move house, devastating the quality
of information on customer databases. Launched in 1992, the Gone Away Suppression
(GAS) File uses information from private and public data sources to create a comprehensive
database of qualified mover information.
More reliable than postal returns, GAS File suppression offers a range of benefits
and cost savings, improving response rates and quickly recovering the investment
by reducing printing, postage and returns processing costs. In addition, removing
erroneous records minimises resource wastage and sustains brand values such as quality,
accuracy and professionalism.
Used to clean one-third of the UK’s direct mail, the file contains approximately
21 million records. Updated quarterly with up to 1.5 million new names, the file
achieves 92 percent coverage of UK home-mover information with 98 percent accuracy.
