Data Enhancement
Mortascreen
The longest established deceased suppression file on the market, Mortascreen contains
over 6.5 million records dating back to 1989. The largest file of its kind in Europe,
the file now incorporates data from the Deceased Register. Originally compiled from
probate information, Mortascreen now increases by approximately 45,000 names each
month by incorporating additional verifiable data sources from England, Wales and
Scotland, including ‘pre-probate’ information from leading funeral providers, website
notifications, returned mail marked ‘Deceased’ and obituary notices. Collated and
distributed by Millennium, the Mortascreen file allows users to effectively remove
the details of deceased individuals from customer and prospect mailing databases.
Protecting the brand image is essential to continued success, particularly in consumer-facing
markets. In addition to avoiding any unnecessary resource and budget wastage by
communicating offers to the deceased, screening against Mortascreen ensures that
relatives and potential customers are not upset or annoyed by poorly targeted and
badly timed mailings.
